Tracee Barden – Assistant Director

I am a native of the Upper Valley and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1994. I was recruited by the University of Southern Maine as a member of the women’s basketball team and majored in social work. After spending a year interning in family preservation for Casey Family Services, my work experience consists of five years as a behavior specialist at the Spurwink School in Lincoln, Rhode Island, eight years as a classroom integration specialist for children on the autism spectrum in Vermont, and six years working in early childhood at Kendal at Hanover in New Hampshire. I joined FitKids Childcare in 2015 as a Lead Preschool teacher prior to joining the leadership team as the Assistant Director in 2019. I am currently working towards my associate’s degree in child development. I have two daughters, ages five and sixteen, as well as lots of family that live locally and two guinea pigs. My family enjoys all the things that the Upper Valley has to offer such as camping, hiking, kayaking, and local attractions. I am also volunteer soccer and basketball coach for the Lebanon Recreation Department. As a teacher I believed strongly in encouraging children to explore and discover the world at their own pace with a focus on the natural world and that my job as a teacher was to facilitate their learning. As the Assistant Director, I am honored to be part of every teacher’s learning and growth and to be able to support them in their own personal journey. As the liaison to enrollment, I enjoy meeting every family and child that becomes part of our FitKids family.
