Pre-Kindergarten

Our Pre-K classroom is for children ages 4 to 5 years old, who will be entering kindergarten the following year. Using play-based instruction, our teachers promote early reading, writing, math, and science in a fun, age-appropriate ways.

Our classrooms have plenty of space and are organized by areas of interest, with consideration for the 4 and 5-year-old’s rapidly expanding skill sets. Secure areas, both indoors and outdoors, provide opportunities for challenging active play that is developmentally appropriate for our Pre-K students.

Interesting materials are provided for Pre-K children so they use their senses to explore. The curriculum is designed to stretch the children’s competencies. Our child-size furniture is sturdy and safe, allowing for more independence. Books are carefully selected to reflect a wide variety of cultures. We follow the developmentally appropriate practice, based on each child’s age and stage of development – encompassing physical, social/emotional, cognitive, and language development. Our relationships with families are based on respect, communication, and openness.
